Here is part of Cocos Keeling Islands Community Resource Centres' nomination

The Cocos Keeling Islands Community Resource Centre is passionate about providing relevant information to the community of the remote and isolated Cocos Keeling Islands.  With the majority of the population Cocos Malay, with English as their second language the CRC understands how important it is to ensure all information is translated to Cocos Malay.  The CRC use a variety of ways to disseminate important information the Community by means of an electronic distribution list, our Community Newsletter and social media.   We also print and display hard copies around the settlements. The Cocos CRC developed Business Buzz and Info Sessions, and have in the past hosted the Department of Commerce at our Centre along with Community Members.  This is another great way of keeping our Community informed.

The CRC have created opportunities to work with a number of Community Groups including the Home Island Seniors, The Cocos Islands Youth Group and the Volunteer Marine Rescue Service.  We also host regular Market Days and Info Sessions which brings both Home and West Island Communities together.
